9th Episcopal District WMS President

Sherryl Whiting is a member of Cherry Street A.M.E. Church in Dothan, Alabama. In her local church, she is a member of the Gussie McMillon Women’s Missionary Society, Steward Board, Church Secretary, Stewardess Board, and Lay President. She is the newly appointed Ninth Episcopal District WMS President. She also serves as the Connectional CDMC Assistant Recording Secretary.

Her other work includes Financial Secretary of the Southeast Alabama Conference Lay Organization, Assistant Recording Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Richard Allen Resource Center of the Southeast Alabama Conference. She is a Life Member in the Women’s Missionary Society. Her former Missionary work includes serving as Secretary, 1st Vice President and President of the South/Southeast Alabama Conference Branch Women’s Missionary Society as well as President and YPD Director in her local church.

Sherryl has three children Adrienne, Lya and Albert Jr. She also has 4 grandchildren Julian, Kelsey, Kennedy, and Kyrie.

Sherryl holds a BS degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with a Minor in Chemistry from Alabama State University, a BS degree in Biology with a certification in Medical Technology from Auburn University in Montgomery – Registered by ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathologist) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Troy State University in Dothan. She is a Silver/Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a member of the National Alumni Association of Alabama State University, President of the Bamadale Neighborhood Organization, a member of Lookwell Chapter 219 Order of Eastern Star, Starscope Bowling League and Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the George Washington Carver Interpretive Museum. She enjoys church, gardening, bowling, family and traveling. One of her favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
